The most talented people actually have very little ego and pride; they are ready to learn from anyone if that helps them get closer to their goals; if anything, they are only proud of their own efforts and of sticking to the highest standards in a world where people are proud of fitting in;

and the opposite is true, the most average people are full of ego and pride; they have a very strong idea of what they deserve even though they are never ready to pay the price; they look down on the amount of efforts it takes to build a wealthy life; they are quick to get offended and actually subconsciously put themselves in environments where they never have to question themselves.
