#WritersCoffeeClub May 1: **Workers' Day:** What can we do to support and protect other writers, not only now, but in the future as well?
🧵 (1/4)
Lots of things; enough I can't help but answer this early:
Discourage people from under-valuing their work. This goes for ALL art forms! Young creators especially are easy to abuse. Comfortable people put out work for free. Each penny taken from them is taken from everyone, driving prices down. You know what artists used to have? Rich patrons. I'm not saying it needs to be so inaccessible again, but you know what A.I. can't do? Write for shit! And everyone knows it at this point.

Hey, you know what A.I. also can't do? Draw for shit. People can tell at a glance these days and you can't support writers without also supporting visual artists. We're all in this together. Don't make yourself a slop cover if you don't want to encourage slop stories. 'Cause guess what? If people see a slop cover, they think it's a slop story.
