At the risk of coming across like a reply guy...
I may be an idiot, it's undecided, but I paid close to $5K for my latest desktop/gaming machine. It still struggles with Ark Ascended (that's a developer problem but mayhaps serves as an example?).
$1,000 is _still_ cheaper than the above.
It's not _affordable_ by any stretch of the imagination but cheaper.
