a lot of the bitterness is a completely irrational fear that Sadiq Khan could somehow extend ULEZ outside boundaries of Greater London / M25 (its politically and legally impossible!) or they work for some petit bourgeoisie business that was making money undercutting those within London and stubbornly refuse to change their shed of a diesel van for something compliant (there are plenty of vehicles which /are/ compliant and they don't eve nhave to be brand new!)
I collect various books on motoring, written by obvious car enthusiasts and those from /late 1960s/ onwards all advise *against* driving in London unless you really have to, and suggest taking the train is a better idea..
