I had a (surprisingly for me) hot reaction when an acquaintance called people like that "Irish" because citizen and passport. This woman was stunned that someone with Irish blood would not stand for having some unwelcome guest called Irish just because they lived there.
The English are having the same problem, though they should have burned alive their (((problem))) centuries ago. "British" isn't working anymore, so some of the brown are demanding that they be called English because they're third-generation-brown-invader.
