Republicans got their mail in ballots in earlier than the D's (that's the qualifier), so he's a fraction ahead of Becerra. (D's had a contender drop out, so people decided late.) His lead dropped overnight, and Steyer's 3rd place improved.
If any candidate gets 50%, that would be a win, no advance, but it's top 2, no matter party.
I'm not sure I want Steyer to take 2nd, BTW. I hate billionaire spending patterns in politics.
