For a year we've been fighting the IRS over two things. One was that they charged us penalties and interest for their mistake. Another was over their inability to do basic math. In the end we got sick of it and didn't want to go to court over $13k, so we just ate the injustice and paid it. That was 3 weeks ago Today we get a letter from the IRS saying we have over paid our taxes for the last 3 years along with a check for $136k. I shudder to think what this will ultimately cost us.
