Signal provides excellent protection against third party interception of content (when used on uncompromised devices). That is not the only security consideration in protecting classified communication. Signal does not, for example, support security labels, certified identities, clearance levels, or any of the other specialized features required to properly protect classified traffic. It also runs on fundamentally vulnerable general-purpose platforms.
