What's something fun you really enjoyed about one of your childhood birthdays?
In Sweden, when I was a kid it was super popular to have a "fiskdamm" (fishing pond?) Which was basically an adult hiding behind a sheet and kids holding a stick with a string tied to a clothespin. They'd throw it over the sheet and the adult would clip it to a small bag of candy, and tug on the string when the kid could pull it back.
One year, my mom "who isn't very creative", made bags that looked like fish, because that's way more realistic and fun than a boring paper bag!
(She's way more creative than she thought, clearly! No other parents did this!)
