I remember my son's mom's grandpa said those exact words when I captured this huge 8 foot long black rat snake that supposedly "chased them around the yard" 😏 it was coiled underneath an old rusty piece of tractor equipment and I quickly snatched it by it's neck and it began wrapping it's body around the whole length of my arm and that's when he said "that boys got the devil in him" with that down south rural bumpkin accent
