Often overlooked early 80’s romantic sitcom where Audrey is an American immigrant that runs an East Coast diner with all sort of crazy regulars for breakfast and or brunch. She has a will they/won’t they fractious relationship with the coffee bookshop owner opposite called Mike. Ultimately they will, and then do.
There was a (fictional) spin off as well that I did the theme for: Green Lake
West Coast spin-off from Audrey’s Kitchen where a couple of regulars who were in the police are fired and move to become Private Investigators in Washington State. Not very successful because of the weird tonal changes between sit-com and dark crime. This might have influenced both Frasier and Twin Peaks, which gives you an idea of the ground they were attempting to cover.
