I think the "does nuclear hurt or bolster fossil fuels" question is a very interesting point. Also one that causes a lot of friction among folks who seriously want to get rid of fossil fuels.
And I think it really helps to have a look at the politicians who pretend to be pushing nuclear in Germany. Like Bavarian governor Söder. He is against battery-electric vehicles and wants more time for petrol cars. Bavaria has the most restrictive laws an wind farms.
