I think something big shifted in epoch 5.

Bitcoin didn't change, people did.

ETFs & institutional acceptance is what changed. We're now presented with the choice of accepting these new participants/interests or exiting bitcoin.

Bitcoin will continue to be permissionless money for those who remain in control of their private keys.

This is what many of us wanted because we knew it would pump our bags. We just didn't realise that they'd tank the price first to get a good entry.
