Feel you big time man, as a huge lover of people watching the smartphone really killed this hobby of mine...
But we need to keep the torch alive and be an example, especially to children.
Yesterday while I was eating at a pizza shop there was a family of 4 were everybody was on their phone except the little girl. Everybody else in the pizza shop was also on their phone. And it got me thinking how this little girl would look around and see everybody on their phone, not making eye contact or connecting with strangers, thus thinking that is normal to do that.
I also wanted to check something on my phone but I decided to eat the whole time there alone just looking around and making occasional eye contact with the little girl. I wanted her to see that you can also stay without phone and that making eye contact/connection with strangers is possible and a lovely thing!
Might be a drop in the ocean, but gotta do what we can !!
