News: Influencer lawyer Li Yi-ting (aka "仙塔律師") was sentenced to 5 months in prison (commutable to a fine) and fined NT$80,000 (around 2600 USD) for aiding money laundering after helping fraud ring members hide assets. She was acquitted of leaked secrets charges.
My opinion: Wanna know why this piece of trash fraud-lawyer got off with such a pathetic slap on the wrist? Because she spent her time sucking up to the ruling DPP and bashing the opposition as their online attack dog. Taiwan’s justice system has been drowning in double standards for ages. As long as you side with the ruling party (DPP), you can literally join a scam ring, ruin countless people's lives, and the judges will still hand you a joke of a sentence with a smile.
