ha ha, not either or but both - many economists are merely the helpers of the capitalist class.... not all, but many.
For critical political economists like me, capitalism while workable is often distorted by the privileging of the interests of just one part of its social structure .... and economists often seem to be happy to normalise that analytical skewing.
