Movies that master both the big & epic & the small & intimate are pretty great though.
Jackson's Fellowship of the Ring comes to mind (personally, my favorite of the trilogy). There are lots of big shots that invoke awe & wonder, but it's not just those shots that look fucking amazing. The rest of the film is also a visual feast.
