In Brisbane, #meshcore now has 195 nodes, stretching from Toowoomba in the west, down to the border with NSW, and up as far as Caloundra. Seems rock solid. Hardware can be as cheap as a $35-ish little board; best to contribute to the mesh with two if you can (with a repeater).
