As for a list of pre-listed I'm thinking have some randomized thre from a larger batch of recommended sites.
Doesn't have to be the same suggestions for everyone all the time like in the centralized services. And random is a cool enough algorithm as long as the base selection is good and don't contain sites that are too similar.
