So Labour's commitment to devolution of powers in England has already faltered on the matter of planning...
Now on one level I can completely understand Angela Rayner's move to bypass delays in local planning in a bid to accelerate house building.... but the problem is if each time an intractable problem can 'only be solved' by centralisation, we're never going to see effective devolution to more local democracy.
But, as I said *this* time I can see why the decision has been made.
