Not all of them are supporters of that administration: there's a decent number of critics there too. Just like not everyone on `mastodon.social` is a scammer despite a good number of scam accounts being created there. (And I thank their moderation team for keeping on top of that… they are doing great work.)
I personally like it when people can make a conscious choice about what services they use and not being locked into it. Interoperability I think is a wonderful thing and should be encouraged. It means people can still keep in touch whilst making personal choices that suit them.
The "kind of charming people" is a social problem and would exist whether it was `bsky.social` or `detroitriotcity.com`, the technology isn't the deciding factor. If we had taken that attitude in the early days of the telegraph, the Internet today would simply not exist.
