Now that Mr Farage is having Mr Polanski investigated for inciting violence online because of an off colour punk joke will people on the left realise that trying to regulate and criminalise speech is a really terrible idea.
If you have rules, you need an authority who will enforce them. That authority will never enforce the rules in a neutral way. They couldn't even if they wanted to. There is no neutral rule enforcement, because you need a rule to implement a rule. It requires making a value judgment.
