I don't quite understand the celebrity aspect, but I'm not disagreeing with it. It just makes me happy to not live in SF or to have to see it.
I think it's a better comparison to see how long it took each company to reach $10 billion or even $1 billion a year in annual revenue. Where it took Facebook (with ads) about a decade, it took OpenAI 2.5 years.
