If you can spare 10 minutes, I urge you to read the BIP. It’s simple to understand and that’s all you need to agree/disagree with.
None of the personal attacks are relevant. None of the slippery slope stuff is relevant. Running BIP-110 doesn’t mean you need to run whatever Luke suggests in the future.
The rule changes are simple. They close the OP_RETURN spam vector (that always existed but Core v30 made more easily accessible and normalized), limit how much arbitrary data can be stored in some scripts as a minor disruption to spammers and more importantly a clear message to their VC backers that spam will not be tolerated.
It’s a small step in the right direction, and it needs as much support as possible over the coming week to ensure it succeeds. Switching to Knots+BIP-110 only takes a few minutes and no initial block download is necessary because it uses your Core nodes existing block chain data.
