It's more like I just don't care about cooking the same way? I've been baking since I was a kid, and while I didn't get scientific about my standardization until maybe 7-8 years ago (and only got a scale ~4 years ago) I've been making notes in my cookbooks and on scraps of paper about what works/didn't work with my variations for a long time.
