True, and there are various arguments for and against each of those (and for any language, of course).
But note that you are sort of underscoring his point. C++ began as "C With Classes", a mix of C and Smalltalk (and then added a truly vast amount of avoidable complexity on top of that).
Haskell and OCaml are similarly mixes of Standard ML and other ideas.
I agree that entirely separate paradigms were introduced by SQL, Lisp (not Scheme), Prolog, and APL (not J) historically. So those fit in the list.
And it's fair to bend the rules and use Scheme as an improvement over Common Lisp, and to use J, a good modernization of APL.
I think Amen was aiming at fairly pure examples of foundational paradigms, not "best language to use", but any discussion of these things can quickly get complicated.
