RSS = POPE - Publish Once Play Everywhere. (Audio, Video or Live). You OWN your RSS feed and it is HOW you distribute your content everywhere.
Making people more aware of the underly tech aka RSS also makes explaining the benefits of Podcasting 2.0 much easier, as it is simply extending an RSS feed with new features i.e tags such as person, chapters, transcripts or location.
