quoting naddr1qv…9h2qWhen I started hearing about crypto, my friend introduced me to trading, how to buy, sell, read charts, and understand market movements. I was very interested because at that time I thought crypto was a way to make some extra money. I wanted to understand the market, so I went all in and started learning everything about trading. I spent time studying charts, strategies, patterns, and how people made money in this new digital economy.
During my trading journey, I noticed something interesting. Whenever I looked at the crypto market capitalization rankings, Bitcoin and Ethereum were always at the top of the table. They were always the biggest names in the market. I started asking my trading circle and friends why these two coins were always leading. Their answer was always the same: "Never touch these two coins because you will not get a 100x or 1000x return from them. The real money is made in shitcoins."
Because I was focused on making money, I listened to them. I never really looked deeply into Bitcoin. Even though I was already working with networks and technology, I skipped over Bitcoin. I was looking for opportunities in the market without understanding the foundation behind it.
But as Bitcoiners always say, you don't choose Bitcoin. Bitcoin chooses you.
And that is exactly what happened to me.
I started reading about Bitcoin, and slowly it became a rabbit hole. One thing led to another. I started learning about fiat currency, the history of money, commodity money, gold, and how different monetary systems evolved throughout history.
The more I learned about fiat, the more everything started making sense. I started seeing the problems inside the current financial system. I started understanding inflation, money printing, debt, and how purchasing power is slowly taken away from people over time.
Then I had the realization: Bitcoin is the exit.
Bitcoin was not just another asset. It was not just another cryptocurrency. It was a solution to a broken monetary system. It was a way to protect human time, energy, and wealth from a system that can constantly expand the money supply.
That was the moment I truly understood Bitcoin.
I did not come to Bitcoin because I wanted a number to go up. I did not come because I wanted a quick profit. They say you come for number go up, and then you stay for the revolution.
For me, I skipped the number go up part.
I came for the revolution.
The deeper you go into Bitcoin, the more you start seeing patterns. You start recognizing who understands Bitcoin and who is only here for speculation. You start seeing the difference between Bitcoiners who believe in principles and people who are just chasing narratives.
You start recognizing scammers, shitcoiners, and people who use the Bitcoin name without understanding what Bitcoin represents.
Bitcoin changes the way you see the world.
You stop looking at it only as an investment. You start seeing it as a fight for sound money, freedom, and individual sovereignty.
I was not around during the block size wars, but today I am watching similar battles happen right in front of my eyes. The discussions around spam wars, protocol changes, and things like BIP110 show that Bitcoin is not just software. It is a network protected by people who have different visions and beliefs about the future.
Sometimes I feel like I do not want to be so deep into the rabbit hole because you start seeing the pain.
You see people who truly care about Bitcoin fighting. You see good Bitcoiners feeling betrayed. You see people who stood for Bitcoin principles struggling with the direction things are moving.
Sometimes you realize that many people first treated Bitcoin as an investment, but Bitcoin was never meant to just be an investment.
Bitcoin is an exit from the legacy system.
You can feel the emotional weight when certain things happen in the network. You feel the frustration, the disappointment, and the fear of losing something that represents so much more than money.
But then I remind myself of something important.
The Bitcoin protocol does not feel pain.
Bitcoin does not have emotions.
Bitcoin does not care about individuals.
Bitcoin follows consensus.
And that is exactly what makes Bitcoin powerful.
As Bitcoiners, we need to learn how to separate our emotions from the protocol. We need to understand that the fight for sound money was never going to be easy. If something is truly valuable, there will always be challenges, disagreements, and attacks.
Sometimes we have to swallow the bitter orange pill and continue walking the path forward.
Because once you have seen the world through the Bitcoin lens, there is no going back.
You cannot unlearn what you have learned.
You cannot ignore the problems with fiat.
You cannot pretend that sound money is not important.
Bitcoin teaches you low time preference. It teaches you patience. It teaches you to think beyond your own lifetime.
Yes, sometimes we may lose good Bitcoiners. Sometimes people who were strong supporters in previous cycles may change direction and become focused on things that go against the original mission. There will always be conflicts, debates, and struggles inside the network.
But that is part of protecting something important.
At the end of the day, Bitcoin is not about any single person. It is not about influencers, developers, miners, or personalities.
Bitcoin is about principles.
It is about creating a monetary system that respects human time and cannot easily be manipulated.
One day, every one of us will leave this world.
The question is not only how much Bitcoin we accumulated.
The question is whether we helped protect it.
Whether we fought for sound money.
Whether we left the world a better place for the next generation.
As Bitcoiners, we have a responsibility to keep Bitcoin clean, open, and decentralized. We need to protect the principles that make Bitcoin valuable because the next generation will inherit the world we leave behind.
The fight for sound money will not always be easy.
The path will not always be comfortable.
But it is worth fighting for.
Because Bitcoin is not just about wealth.
Bitcoin is about freedom.
