Faith in self custody shouldn't be lost, but faith in coinkite and any of their products should be lost here.
Ironically, I think faith is the problem word here. People just believed instead of not trusting and verifying. But I also recognize that it's hard for someone not technical to take a deep look at an inherently technical topic on a topic that is arguably confusing to most people to begin with. Especially when they're constantly getting product shills shoved down their throat saying that the device is trustable and the company is good.
