A study (using HMRC data) suggest that the Inheritance Tax changes, while having some impact on smaller farms, will not force most family farms to be sold to pay IHT.

It shows one of its author' notes 'the government’s reform largely protects family farms whilst limiting claims [for tax relief] by the wealthiest estates'

As many suspected the claims by the farming lobby that family farms would be devastated is at best exaggerated, with Labour's claims largely vindicated!
