This is wild! Stefan Bohacek (npub1kqc…7wgd) did a poll and asked people how they are paying for the Fediverse.
2,841 people responded back. And of those, 62% said they’re paying for the Fediverse in some form or another.
Someone did the math, and it turns out 1,761 people are contributing $5.5 million to the continuing operations of the Fediverse. Or put another way, that’s $66M/yearly.
And again, that’s just from 1,761 people!
