I'll tell people this too - many new home builds, especially on or near coasts - aren't built to withstand our changing climate. The humidity in my house was very high - some days pushing 70%. Normal levels are usually considered 50% or less.
High humidity by itself can be a mold risk factor.
So I had to invest in a whole home dehumidifier. Hated to spend so much money on something I shouldn't even have needed but, as noted in the story, it's better than paying for mold cleaning.
