At the Chiesa rupestre di San Nicola all’Ofra. A rock church a bit south from Matera. Had to walk maybe 3 km along roads to get to this area. There is a distinct lack of hiking paths in these parts of Italy. But at least this is now surely off the beaten path, as one says.
