Tbh, I've been using electronic fiat payments for so long that physical cash is actually starting to feel unfamiliar.
It's something I'm trying to rectify recently. As long as I'm stuck paying for most things in fiat, I'd prefer for it to be in the way that best preserves privacy. One less data point for the panopticon.
Give it another 10 years and I'm willing to bet that physical cash is mostly phased out. It's as permissionless and private as it gets in fiat world, and that won't be tolerated for much longer.
Hopefully bitcoin as medium-of-exchange is reasonably prevalent by the time the CBDCs are rolled out where I live (good luck Europe, you're the tip of that awful spear).
