Moving all of my bitcoin in a panic last week off of my coldcard has really shaken my confidence in bitcoin in general.
Anything resembling mass adoption is so far off if security is this difficult. Most people are not willing to learn or are too intimidated by offline key generation. Many will be scared of screwing up and losing everything.
On top of that, as AI becomes more powerful everyday and compute increases through the construction of data centers, other hardware wallets and cold storage solutions will eventually be broken. Right now, nothing seems bullet proof.
Bitkey, for instance, could be an elegant and easy (enough) to use solution for the masses but it has trust flaws - as other commenters have already pointed out.
If we weren’t in a bottom, I would consider selling, for the first time ever.
