The universe is. It is our daily choice to be moral, be honourable, be just, be civil, be generous, be kind, be loving — striving to become divine in spite of it. The universe is none of them.
Everyone faces their own gom jabbar where we choose to become human or die as animals; choose civilization or remain barbarous.
The world does not care nor can it. We choose for ourselves and our own; always at cost, usually in pain.
