For democracy to defeat the Far Right's authoritarianism, (liberal) democracy has to now deliver the advances in wellbeing most voters want.
While over-determined, Govt's have failed by being too timid in light of historic failure(s) & now fail to act decisively...
Others might argue that democrats (with a small 'd') have been too eager to see their prime constituency as the rich & powerful not the 'real' voters!
