Light enters the eye…
then has to travel through layers of tissue before it even reaches the photoreceptors buried at the back.
That makes almost no sense if the eye is just a camera.
It starts making a lot more sense if those DHA-rich photoreceptors are part of a highly sensitive quantum/semiconductor system that benefits from being shielded from thermal noise
