met my wife in transition year, went to UK to see Shakespeare performed, went on exchange to France and have kept the language up, got time to decide what path to a career I wanted, tried lots of new things, had a year away from exam pressure, grew up a lot. My son found much of the same last year, 30 years after me (he's not married though, he seems happy to have missed that bit 😄)
