I get what you are saying but it’s only one side of the coin. While it is possible to identify and practice a “craft” that you can bypass some of the so called required hoops that get you your piece of paper, many industries are built to be gated communities where the only way you can legally practice your skill and craft is via licensing based on your expensive piece of paper or credential. Lots of people are fully aware that while much of their credential experience is a joke, they can also see that it is foundational to the “privilege to practice.”
