I don't think that Trump is likely to stop the war. I do think that he is more likely than Harris. There is a reason that Cheney, and particularly Bolton, back Harris. I think that it stems from Trump's refusal to go along through with the war in Iran plan. I agree he appointed uber neo con Bolton as Secretary of State, gave the go ahead to the killing of Suleimani, but when the Iranians attacked the US base in Saudi, he changed course. His response to the invasion of Lebanon was unequivocal condemnation. Biden and Harris instantly began drumming up support for 'refashioning the middle east', ie regime change by force in Iran. For me the ethnic cleansing in Gaza is simply the price they are prepared to pay for an excuse to back Israel in a war with Iran.
Like I said, Trump is completely incoherent, hence the drone strikes, the mother of all bombs, appointing Bolton in the first place and negotiating with North Korea and trying to get the troops out of Afghanistan against the wishes of the top brass and not going to war with Iran. I'm not sure what you are referring to with the Golan stuff. Israel occupied it in 1967 and annexed it in the 1980, iirc. What is striking is that it is only the hard right in the US who are Kissinger, may his soul rot in hell, style realists. That may just be posturing to embarrass the Democrats over Ukraine, but it is evidence that a shift in US foreign policy is more likely to come from the MAGA right than the Harris-Cheney grouping.
Domestically, I am less sure. The majority of Americans already suffer from repressive over policing. The undocumented live in fear of ICE. It is telling that despite his 'mass deportation' stuff, his Latinx base remains strong. My guess is that they recognise that just as Biden embraced his wall, Harris will embrace his deportation agenda.
The people who stand to lose under Trump are the middle classes. That's bad. There is no point removing privilege by simply making more people suffer. What is required is liberation, but the middle class need to recognise that the danger posed by Trump is only new inasmuch as it now imperils them. My hope is that when they see that, whatever they decide to do with their vote, they recognise that Harris et al are just as ruthless, just as heartless and just as destructive as Trump and they organise accordingly
