From today for the next 3 days and 2 nights we are walking from Amachi St. (甘地駅) on the Bantan Line (播但線) just a bit north of Himeji (姫路市) in Hyogō Pref. (兵庫県) to Amanohashidate (天橋立) in Kyōyo Pref. (京都府). This is trying to recreate the old pilgrimage route connecting 33 Buddhist temples that enshrine statues of Kannon (観音). This route is known as the Saikoku33 (西国33).
