My wife used to follow the same pattern (nowadays less so or she does not tell me ) - mostly around psychology and spirituality. Very much against mainstream medicine, very much in favor of a holistic lifestyle. At first we argued, then I gave up and tried to understand why she was doing it despite not even knowing how a human cell is built. Finally it occurred to me that "I am confident but I am no expert" isn't knowledge, it's a form of belief - like the certainty people hold about heaven and angels. Could this be a modern church?
