A few women ask why men don’t approach them in bars anymore. I think three things are going on:
1. Rejection has always sucked, especially when it’s public
2. No considerate man wants to be known as “that creepy guy”, and if you’re not a woman’s preference, that can be you
3. Dating apps, as awful as they are, at least protect you from the worst case scenario—which is public conflict
It also doesn’t help that social media has poisoned gender dialogue, and both men and women internalize this.
