SO, i got more info. Turns out, 5 years ago my cousin (the one on the bender) hurt his back/neck or something, and the doctor prescribed pain pills (the "good stuff") and my cousin didn't want them, but they gave him to him anyway (he knew he had addiction things) and turns out he got hooked on painpills and has basically been spiraling every six months since then.
He had alcohol problems before, but not this bad.
