I remember when I was a kid, probably not much older than my daughter's age, I used to roam and rampage around the neighbourhood by myself and with friends all the time getting into all kinds of misadventures. It's a strange feeling because I do actually want that sense of freedom for my daughter, yet the idea of letting her have those exact same freedoms I had as child is almost unthinkable. It's a strange psychology that creeps in where you just need to know where they are all the time. I wonder if it's related to surveillance technology or just changing social attitudes in certain countries.
