Jackk (nprofile…qxjp) It struck me that these are magnitudes, and the way you use the word “infinite” seems to be the word short circuiting my brain.
there is no infinite magnitude. the only coherent way to say “infinite” is to mean by addition or division: no principle preventing a +1 or 1/2.
so the framing as “time is either discrete or continuous” puts continuity and and discreteness next to each other, which leads to impasses and absurdity on both sides, first recognized by Aristole.
whatever time is, it’s coherent in reality, which necessitates the discrete being nested within the continuous. not either or, but a relational unity.
with this relational unity, there is no issue with the “double spend”
it accounts for what potential could be and what actually is.
