Even if people were offered a cheap Raspberry Pi with a BTCPayServer that would use some external RPC, it would still be much better than the current situation.
Maybe it would be better to write your own implementation, throw away the BTCPayServer that has a lot of baggage on it and do it modern, agnostic, modular. With AI it wouldn't have to be so complicated
