yeah, I can't disagree with you there.

There are a few forces at work here. First is the liberal profit-motive: it is easier to make money by selling people addictive stuff. Then there are the fascists who are very consciously trying to destroy literacy because they know that creates a more subservient labor pool for them to exploit.

Both of these forces have been working to destroy literacy. The liberals have been doing it accidentally. The fascists have been doing it deliberately. Where the two sides both agree is that controlling all mass-consumption media is the key to winning. First radio and film, then TV, then computers (with computer games), then the Internet with social media, the people prosecuting the "war" against literacy have been winning more and more battles as times go on.

But AI is their nuclear weapon in this war, it will win them a decisive victory --- it promises a very effective erasure of literacy for all people who become addicted to it. The liberals see AI as just another way to make money, but the fascists are refocusing all of their political power and resources into AI investments, they know they will win this war soon.
