I know a Boomer like that. Claims to know all these rich people, his parents supported him well into adulthood, he was offered good high paying jobs (or so he claimed) and turned them down....and he's old and broke. He is living in a house HIS parents BOUGHT him, but deeded it to a young business partner (who kicked him out). I asked him why he never got wealthy knowing these (famous) rich people and he said "I didn't want to mix business with friendships" (even though he leeched off his own family his whole life).
